Matthew McConaughey gives one of the most inspirational speeches you’ll ever hear

“We’ve all got two wolves in us.”

Long before he was an Oscar winning-actor (and potential Gubernatorial candidate in Texas), Matthew McConaughey was well known for a philosophical approach to life that values motivation and emphasizes action. (No wonder he’s his own inspiration.)

He coined the phrase “Just Keep Living” to embody his proactive approach to tackling life by the horns, and has given multiple inspirational speeches to motivate everyone from business executives to the Texas Longhorns football team.

Fortunately for those of us who can’t afford to hire the A-list actor to fire us up each morning, YouTube channel Absolute Motivation has given us the next best thing: a super cut of some of McConaughey’s most inspiring, motivational and engine-revving speeches.

Take a look in the video above and throw it on any time you find yourself feeling low, and need to launch a McConaissance of your own.

CBC: “Man who needs kidney receives gift of new home”

Making ends meet is hard for a lot of families, but it’s especially difficult when one parent can’t work, is waiting for a kidney transplant, and has to spend nine hours each night on a dialysis machine.

But as Canada’s CBC reports, that’s exactly the situation Alvero Wiggins and his wife Chelsie found themselves in when Alvero was diagnosed with kidney failure.

Because Alvero could no longer work, the family had to move out of the home they were renting in the west end of Halifax and into public housing that was so neglected, it was literally infested with rats.

“It’s terrible to raise your kids in conditions that aren’t fit for human beings,” Alvero told the CBC. “We had to threaten to bring TV cameras in order for them to take us serious.”

The situation seemed dire… until a guardian angel stepped in to offer the family a miracle… a $100,000 miracle, to be more precise.

Check out the full story on the CBC to find out how an amazing act of generosity led to a dream home for the Wiggins family.

A 3-Year-Old Girl Gave a Cupcake to Her Garbage Man. What Happened Next Will Warm Your Heart

Be honest: when was the last time you said thank you to your garbage man?

If you’re like most people, you probably don’t even remember the last time you spoke to the human being who takes away your waste and helps keep your home clean, let alone thanked him. (Full disclosure: we’re guilty too.)

Fortunately, not everyone is indifferent. Three-year-old Brooklyn Andrack of Bloomington, Illinois recently made her garbage man’s day when she decided to share one of her birthday cupcakes with the friendly driver with an even friendlier smile.

“Every Thursday, my heart is full when I see the joy that our amazing garbage man brings Brooklyn when he honks and waves at her with a big smile,” as Brooklyn’s mom wrote on the City of Bloomington’s Facebook page.

Check out the video to see the special surprise that Brooklyn had in store for Delvar, her favorite garbage man. It’s a perfect reminder of why it pays to be positive.
